L223 Early 19th century Eastern Shore Maryland Gathering Basket bearing wonderful old green painted surface. Very well-woven round form with tightly wrapped double rim and a delicate steamed and bent, notched handle. Pushed up bottom allows for proper weight distribution and air flow.
This basket is sturdy and in very good condition.
Measurements: 10” x 10 ¼” across top opening. Sides are 5” tall. Overall height with handle is 10 ½” tall.
