L266A Pewter Tobacco Jar – classic style from the George III Era - C.1790-1800 -features a slightly tapered body with a thickened edge, banded base and slightly flared foot. The contoured lid boasts an acorn finial (slightly skewed). The interior retains a second heavier lid, or press, which pressed down and helped preserve the tobacco from the air. Unmarked. Clean, natural patina surface commensurate with age.
Measurements: ~4” diameter x ~5” tall including finial.
