L280 Solid cast iron Sink Box Decoy with defined eyes and bill. Found in Royal Oak, MD. Circa 1880s. The Elizabeth City Foundary was the source for most of North Carolina iron sinkbox decoys. Originally called the Sanders Foundry, it was founded in the early 1880s by Joseph Sanders. This decoy was cast in the manner of a redhead from the Mason Factory in Detroit, Michigan.Approximate measurements:14” long x 5 ½” wide x 5” tall.
