L324 Early 20th century Folk Art hand-painted Theorem on velvet – signed by artist – Mary O Mecagni. Theorem features a still life of an oval woven compote style basket containing a beautifully arranged abundance of fruits with accents of tendrils and leaves. Beautiful use of colors and shading adds to the visual appeal. Nicely framed in what appears to be the original frame.
Framed measurements: 16 5/8” wide x 14 5/8” tall x 1 ¾” deep. Viewing area is 12 7/8” wide x 10 7/8” tall.
(NOTE: Research indicates Mary O. Mecagni (1900-2004) was from New London, CT.)
