L328 Mid 19th century Tin Toleware Spice Box featuring 8 drawers with oval fronts bearing hand painted labels for Ginger, Cinnamon, Pepper, Cloves, Nutmeg, Mace, Allspice, and Cardamon.  The base paint is a technique called “Black Japanning”, which was a technique used on early metals to render it rust proof – perfect for such items as spice boxes. Circa 1850s. 
Measurements: 9” wide x 3 ½” deep x 11 ¼” tall.  Drawers measure 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” deep with 3 ½” wide x 1 ½” tall oval drawer fronts.
