L56 Rare early 19th century New England Cantback Stepback Cupboard bearing original dry, bittersweet red painted surface. Each of the upper shelves bears a carved plate groove and the shelf fronts feature curved ends that cover where they are notched into the sides of the cupboard. The single door below opens to reveal an original blue painted interior. Batton on door boasts large rosehead nails. Circa 1800-1820s. Case is square head and wire nail construction. The wood is pine. 
Measurements: 43” wide x 17 ¼” deep (at waist) x 72 ¾” tall.
