M301 Early 19th century original red painted Pennsylvania blanket chest with dovetailed case, applied bracket base and molded edge around lid. Clean, natural patina interior with lidded till inside. A large early circular picture of the legendary American Standardbred pacer horse named “Dan Patch” who set the world record for the fastest mile by a harness horse at 1:55 remains intact inside the lid. Square head nail construction. Circa 1830s. 
Measurements: 33 ¾” wide x 16 ¾” deep x 20” tall.
