M315 Stunning 18th century identified Pennsylvania Chippendale blanket chest retaining old blue over original blue painted surface with a dovetailed case and two dovetailed drawers resting on a high applied bracket base with dovetailed feet. Lid has breadboard ends and molded edge. The wood is pine, six board dovetail construction. Clean, natural patina interior boasts a lidded till with beaded edge and a hidden drawer below. The back of the drawer is signed “William Pearson I am” on one side and the name “Charles Sopris” is etched in the opposite side. Circa 1780s.
Measurements: 49” wide x 19 ¾” deep x 26 ½” tall.
