RM1405 19th century New England original salmon painted bail handled pantry box with double banded lid. Opposing overlapped bands. Steamed and bentwood sides and bands secured with tiny tacks and square head nails. Clean, natural patina interior. Handwritten note inside lid reads: "1 1/2 pounds box weighs". Measurements: 9 7/8" diameter x 5 1/2" high.
