RM1243 Rare 18th Century Apothecary Mortar and Pestle in old green over grey painted surface.
Large , over 7 pounds, heavy mortar and pestle in fantastic turned iconic apothecary type shape.
Rim is thick and quite wide at 2". Appears to have been heavily used and repainted several times over its life.
Current surface is heavily scuffed revealing multiple paint layers and great surface., small old chips, stress hairlines but no cracks through. Scuffs to paint. Dimensions: mortar 8 1/2" x 9", pestle 12", rim 2" wide
