RM1389 Excellent, identified New England sturdy wooden firkin in beautiful original blue painted surface. Signed “John Bushman Jr.” inside the lid, and the initials “J.B.” on the bottom. Thick-walled tongue and groove softwood staved sides secured by tapered lap joint wood bands held in place with copper tacks and one tiny staple at the end of each band. The bent wood swivel handle is secured with wood peg attachments. Natural patina interior. Measurements: 9 5/8” diameter (top) x 10 1/8” diameter (bottom) x 9 ½” tall. Overall height with handle raised is ~13 ½” tall.
