RM1446 Civil War Model 1860 Cavalry Sword made by “Mansfield & Lamb – Forestdale R.I.” as stamped on blade. The reverse side is stamped “U.S. 1864”. This sword is one of 37,500-edged weapons produced for the U.S. Ordinance Department by this manufacturer during the Civil War. The sword retains its leather hangers attached to the scabbard – which is very rare! Overall, the sword and scabbard are in very good condition.
