RM1471 Early hand hooked rug depicting a shadowy night scene of a Ship bearing four large sails topped with pennants in an oval shaped center medallion with variegated blues throughout the background – giving the effect of a night sky. The center medallion is complimented with nautical theme items in each corner including an Anchor and Chain, Mariner’s Compass, Ship’s Wheel and a Globe – all intertwined with a total of nine stars. Strips of various fabrics in blacks, dark grays, light and dark shades of aqua blue and bold mustard yellow are tightly hand hooked on burlap with hand stitched finished edges. Measurements: 35 ¼” wide x 17 ¾” tall
