RM1574 Pre-Civil War era H. Aston US model 1842 percussion pistol, .54 caliber, with walnut stock. The lock is inscribed “Middtn Conn 1851” and “Aston & C…” This maker manufactured and supplied the U.S. Army with 6,000 of these pistols in 1851-1852 – making this the last percussion pistol to see service. Measures 14” long with an 8 ½” long round barrel.
