Mid 19th Century Western Pennsylvania Chest over Drawer – or “Mule” Chest – in original yellow paint with one dovetailed drawer, beautiful high cut out feet. The case is all square head nail construction with two wide boards for the back and applied molding around the top. The inside is very clean. The primary wood is white pine with the secondary wood in the drawer being chestnut – indicative of the Western Maryland and Pennsylvania region. The chest retains its original lock, however the key is missing. Very unusual to find a Mule chest in this appealing color and size! Measurements: 38 1/4” wide x 18 3/4” deep x 29 1/2” tall
